3!

I can't believe my little man is already 3! One nice thing thing about having a New Years Eve baby is that we always have family around! We had a wonderful family birthday, complete with homemade donuts for breakfast!

We spent most of the day playing at home, and then we went out for dinner with all 13 of us! It was a little hectic, but very fun.

We capped the birthday celebration with a Super Hero party at home: Dash (from the Incredibles) birthday cake, Iron Man masks, Toy Story (Buzz is a super hero, right?) plates/napkins, and Batman cups.

And just to give you perspective on how Hudson has grown over the last 3 years:

Christmas 2010

It was a great Christmas this year, as we were ALL together. We did have a few lows, but thankfully, the highs far outweighed the lows:
Lows:
- Immediately upon arrival, Keira had to go to the doctor. This was followed by her and Emery alternating having a fever. This meant, keeping the kids sequestered. Not fun for anyone.
- Within days, every.single.person. got sick. The only 2 people spared during the week of Christmas: my boys. I ended up with a sinus infection followed by the flu. Thankfully, that cleared up by Christmas eve. The downside was that I had to travel 5 hours in the car up to Oklahoma with fever/flu. So not cool. Dave spent most of Christmas day in bed. Thankfully, he did have a few good moments so that he could play with the kids, etc...
- The Tracy's are leaving today. :-(

Highs:
- The main high being that by the 27th, everyone was finally healthy!
- All of us got to be together (minus the sick, sequestered days) for over 2 weeks!
- Dave got 10 days off of work, so it was nice having him around!
- Spending time up in Oklahoma
- Meeting baby Mark....(although it was a short visit because he was sick...thankfully, they're coming to Texas on Sunday for a visit.)

Now, a few pics to mark the holiday

Day 24: Oklahoma!

We got to Oklahoma late last night (23rd). My mom gave the kids an early present this morning: a Toy Story lego kit. They had SO much fun putting it together this morning (and so did Aunt Paige and Aunt Tasha!)

Day 21: Lunar Eclipse

This picture only confirms the fact that I need a bigger zoom for my new camera! But, I think you can still see the beautiful orange moon during the Lunar Eclipse on Monday night. I set my alarm for 2am, so that I wouldn't miss the historic event! And it was worth it.

Day 20: Girls Night Out

A few of us girls went out on Monday night, and it was so much fun to get back together after 2 of them have moved away.

Day 18: Together again

William and Hudson haven't seen their cousins, Emery and Keira, since July 25. Remember this post? That is by far the longest they have gone without seeing each other. Granted, they do the weekly or bi-weekly skype sessions, so at least they get to occasionally see each other on the computer.

Both of them, but particularly William, have been counting the days for at least a month. They arrived on Friday, and as you can see from the above pics, we met them at the International Arrivals at the airport. As soon as William spotted Keira he went for a mad sprint, shouting "KEIRA!!!!!!" and plowed into her with the biggest hug ever. It was so sweet to see them so excited to see each other.

The bad news is that both girls have been sick since Saturday morning, so the boys are having to learn a serious patience lesson...no being around the sickies until they're fever free!!

Day 17: sweet baby!

This is sweet baby Naomi Bassett, and she is 4 weeks old here. Her mommy, Christine, is one of my good friends. I got to see Naomi in the hospital the day she was born, but I didn't get any pics... She is so cute, and she still has that yummy newborn smell!!! I can't wait to hold her again.

Day 16: all grown up!

Today was William's Christmas program at school. I was a bit nervous because William does NOT like to perform, and he HATES it when people watch him do things. He is so shy in those sorts of situations. But, he's really been coming out of his shell lately, and he was very excited about today.

The two 4 yr old classes sang about 8 songs, complete with hand motions and bells (for Jingle Bells). It was amazing, and William sang and did EVERYTHING...and even did it enthusiastically. (Don't worry, grandma, we got it all on video...)

Day 15: bubbles

We busted out the bubbles this morning, and it was a riot watching the boys try to catch every single one of them!

Day 14: yummy

The boys LOVE to have porridge for breakfast, but I rarely make it these days because one drop of it that doesn't get wiped up afterwards quickly turns into cement. But, yesterday I made it for them, and it was perfect to warm their bellies!
