We eat Cheetahs?

Before naps this afternoon I was reading/looking at a picture book with the boys. It was one of William's favorite when he was Hudson's age, and Hudson is finally starting to enjoy looking at it. It's one of those huge board books with pictures of animals. One of the pages, which is my personal favorite, is a page with all zoo animals. I was showing Hudson each animal and telling him what noise the animal makes. Well, when we got to the Cheetah, William informed me "Mommy, we eat Cheetahs." Ah, no, we eat Cheetos! I about died of laughter.

Oh, and by the way...

I finished my detox yesterday. I didn't cheat once! I was so proud of myself. I was making Valentine's cookies Wed and Thurs, and it took an amazing amount of will power not to eat the dough. Don't worry, I ate a cookie today since I missed out on it during the week. I am glad I did it. I do feel healthier, detoxed, and a bit lighter (I lost 7lbs!!!). Now, let's just see if I can keep those lbs off. I won't worry about that today though... I'll start tomorrow. I recommend the detox, if you're interested in doing one. It's not too difficult. While I did get hungry a lot, I never once (well, except for the 1st night) felt uncomfortably hungry. It really made me notice how many little licks and tastes I take that I never even think about. I had to stop myself numerous times from taking tastes of the boys' food, etc. I could never sustain that kind of eating for a long period of time. I do feel a sense of accomplishment though.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I got the boys each a heart shaped mylar balloon for Valentine's day. They have been huge hits today. We went out for lunch and ran a few errands, all the while their balloons attached to their wrists. Here are the boys today:

Brotherly Love

Thursday, during lunch, William got out of his chair and went over to Hudson and gave him a kiss on the arm. Hudson burst out in laughter. So, they proceeded to play this "game" for about 10 minutes. They were so cute, I had to take a picture!

The Little Gym

William begged for a birthday party at The Little Gym this year. How could I resist that cute little face? It was a HUGE hit with him and all the kids. We had nearly 20 kids there, and it was riot watching all of them. Even the babies had fun!

Time to Detox

Well, we on our way through February and I still haven't started my non-new years resolution to start eating better and lose a few lbs. My sister did a detox a couple of weeks ago, and while she looked pretty pale the entire time, she loved it. It comes from Gwyneth Paltrow's website. She does the diet 2x per year. If it's good enough for her, it's gotta be good enough for me. I'm dreading the starvation for a week, but I'm looking foward to feeling "light as a feather," which is how another friend who did the detox described himself. (Cindy, I'm referring to your husband!) I'll let you know how it goes, but just to warn you-- I might be grumpy over the next few days!!

Back to Normalcy!

Like I said, we had a great trip to Houston last weekend. We had some yummy food, went shopping, MAJORLY surprised my cousin with a party for her 40th bday, celebrated William's 3rd birthday, soaked in the hot tub, and of course, Dave thoroughly enjoyed watching the Steelers win the Super Bowl. We got home on Monday evening, and this week has been wonderfully uneventful. I have actually been able to go to the gym every morning, go to playdates, teach piano lessons, etc... Some weeks I crave adventure and pizzazz, but this week has been nice. Of course, it won't be like this for long. Saturday is William's 3rd birthday party at The Little Gym!

3 YEARS OLD?!?!?

While we were in Houston this past weekend, William turned 3! I can't even believe it. I know all parents say that. And before I had kids, I would roll my eyes when a parent would say that about their child. Well, now here I am. I'm one of those moms! Here are a few pics of William on his big day.

"Uncle" Kelly (actually William's 1st cousin once removed) made William a chocolate chip pancake for his birthday. Then he read him a little Mike Mulligan. Grandma and Grandpa Dennison got William a new piece for his Thomas stuff.

All 4 of us by the pool. Mimi and William showing off how old he is now. William with his (2nd) cousin Haley.
It was so much fun to spend William's birthday with our extended family!
