32 and counting...

Yesterday marked another year down the hatch. It was a fun day, filled with friends and family! Crew and I spent the morning together at home while I worked (and he did some napping).

After I finished work, we met some friends and my mom/dad and Tasha (and nieces) for some sushi. YUMMY!!!
For dinner, Dave and I went to The Mansion at Turtle Creek for dinner. I've been wanting to go here ever since we got married, but it's so expensive (and an hour away), so we've never splurged for it. Dave's mom happened to give us a gift card there for Christmas last year, and just the craziness that is our life, we hadn't used it yet. My birthday was the perfect occasion!
William picked a rose from our rose bush for Dave's shirt. He thought he needed
a boutonniere!

I intended on taking pics of my food, the place, us, etc...but Dave wouldn't let me. He said "it's not that kind of place." We were in the midst of Bentley and Jaguar owners, so he didn't want me to stick out like a sore thumb (especially since I had to send my cocktail back 2 times before they got it right!). Anyway, it was a fabulous evening, amazing food, and fun to spend the evening out all fancied-up with my hubby!

I'm looking forward to Saturday evening when we get to celebrate with my family (well, the ones who live here...)

Party Time!

Of all 3 boys' first birthday parties, I knew what the theme for Crew's would be from the start. If you remember, his room is robot themed. I figured we'd continue down that path, and go with that for his birthday. I had SO much fun find robot stuff for his party!

For Dinner: Mega Bytes (burgers/hot dogs), Spare Parts (chips), and of course, robot themed desserts!

Robot cake:

 Robot CakePops:

 Robot cupcakes:

Machine Oil (beer, water, homemade cherry limeade, and juice boxes):

and of course, robot themed goodie boxes (robot hand tattoos, robot Christmas ornaments, and robot candy puzzles):

The birthday boy was feeling a bit under the weather at his party. It's ok..."it's my party, I can cry if I want to", right? That's ok, everyone else had a great time!

Crew got lots of fun new things: bean bags (a HUGE hit. Who knew a set of bean bags could be so fun?), a homemade "CREW" pillow/blanket (that will be a post, all on it's own!), a Melissa and Doug school bus set, new clothes, and lots of new books (ALWAYS a hit around here!)

We were blessed to have so many people here to celebrate who have loved our little man so much during his first year!

Nobu

We bought a voucher on Travelzoo with some friends for some yummy sushi at a fancy shmancy place in Dallas this summer, and this past Friday night we finally got around to going!

We had yummy food, great conversation, and lots of laughs.

I'm not usually one for taking pics of my food, but these were so pretty I couldn't resist!

PLAYTIME

As a combined birthday present for the 3 boys, my mom and dad bought a new outdoor playset for our backyard. They have all 3 LOVED it, especially now that the weather is cooling down a bit.
Even Crew gets into the action!

ONE

The fastest year of my life just came to a close. Wow. I can't believe baby Crew is now 1 year old! What a great year it's been with our sweet little guy.

We got to celebrate yesterday with lots of family. I had intended on making a big dinner for everyone with homemade cupcakes, but with being so sick for so long, those plans went out the window. We went out for dinner with everyone, and came home for presents and Bundtinis for dessert.
William and Hudson were so excited to wrap presents for Crew:

First things first: Crew had to get his new chair!

Yummy dessert!

Getting help from brothers and cousins!

He wanted to grab the candle!

"You're really going to let me eat this whole thing???"

"Don't mind if I do!"

Happy Birthday, little man! We love you, and we look forward to seeing what this next year brings.

Haircut

Crew has needed a trim for quite some time, but Dave has been adamantly opposed to him getting a haircut before his first birthday. So, last night, on his birthday-eve, it was time!

Before:

Look at that fur-ball!
 During:

(by the way, I'd like to profusely apologize for my ghastly appearance. I was just rounding out day 4 of having the worst case of the flu EVER. In fact, this was my first time outside since Sunday. Thankfully, that was the end of it, and I am all better for Crew's big day today)

After he's all trimmed up and bathed:

He's still a little fuzz head, but not quite as out of control or mullet-ish as before.
