Pictures from the last 2 weeks!

Here are the pics to document what we've been up to!
Hudson's breathing treatment
aw...how cute. Best Friends.
We did manage to squeeze in a trip to the park last week. It was nearly 80 degrees on Thursday!! The boys had SO much fun. Hudson really enjoyed being able to walk around and play on the equipment.
at the Stock Show.
Horsing around with Uncle Trent and Aunt Paige. Uncles are such bad influences on nephews.

Wow-- it's been over a week!

It's been a little busy around here, to say the least. Here is a little of what's been going on the past 2 weeks:
1. Both kids had to go to the dr 2 weeks ago today. William had a weird rash under his left armpit. Turned out to be foliculitus (SP??)-- some sort of infection in the hair folicle. I think. My poor kids-- they got my terrible skin. Hudson had a high fever all weekend prior to that, accompanied by a yucky cough and weezing. His oxygen levels were fine, but just to be sure (i.e. avoid a lawsuit, just incase) we had to get chest xrays done to make sure it wasn't pnemonia. It wasn't. So, the usual-- lots of liquids, cool mist humidifier, etc etc
2. Tuesday was Dave's 30th bday.
3. Wednesday--Hudson still had high fever, super lethargic, yucky cough. Back to the dr. This time RSV and ear infection. Yippee. His oxygen levels were at 94%-- at 93% they give them oxygen! He had to have a breathing treatment in the office. Hated it. Screamed for the entire 10 minutes, which felt like 30. BUT, it made his oxygen go up to 97. So, off home with a nebulizer and antibiotics for his ear infection and medicine to put in the nebulizer. 3 times per day for a week.
4. Friday-- Dave's bestest friend, Nick and his wife Molly arrived at noon to surprise Dave for his bday. We surprised him ON the golf course...where Dave thought I was going to play with him. Ya right- 44 degrees? I don't think so. Did he really think I was going to let his 30th bday go by without a huge surprise. Not me. He was thrilled, of course.
5. Friday-Monday at 8am: SO much fun with Nick and MOlly. We played lots of games, and I lost all of them. I have always thought of myself as a good game player, maybe b/c I love games so much. But, man, I stink. OH well. Still fun.
6. Monday: our pastor and his family were homeless for a few days (only b/c they were having hardwood floors put in). So, they camped out at our house with their girls. William has never had so much fun. He is in love with them. He (we) secretly hopes that one of them will wait around for him so that he can marry one...too bad they are so wonderful and gorgeous...someone will snatch each of them up in no time. They were going to stay with us until Thursday, but their floors were done ahead of schedule and they were able to move back in on Tuesday afternoon.
7. Wednesday: we got to celebrate the birthday of said pastor's youngest daughter, Kelly. FUn dinner at the most wonderful Frescos. YUMMY! Thanks again, Kyle and Lizzie.
8. Friday: our good friend Melissa McIntyre came to visit from Conneticut. She had been in Dallas all week prior for work and was going to be working this week as well. So, she spent the in between time with us. She brought some great presents for the boys, and of course, some cool Pepsi inflatable balls for them as well.
9. Saturday: Trent and Paige came in for yet another visit. We have been so spoiled with them coming out here so much. I hope it stays like this. William is a big fan of Uncle Trent and Aunt Paige. That night we went to the Stock Show in Ft Worth. THe kids loved checking out all the animals.
10. Sunday: We celebrated Trent's 27th bday at my parent's house with a yummy dinner.

It's been a great 2 weeks, but very busy. It's going to be a pretty low key week this week, but then another crazy weekend. We'll be heading to Houston to visit my cousins. We just need to get away for a few days, and they have a hot tub. Need I say more?

The lost has been found

Well, it is with much surprise that I am announcing the return of our cat...alive and well (minus a few lbs)! I know that you, Kyle, will be most excited. Now, where have you been hiding her these past 7 days?

I still have NO IDEA where she has been or what she was doing, but around 12:30 this afternoon she was outside the front door, crying to come in. Once in, she immediately went for food and water. William said, as she entered the house "There she is, mommy." And Hudson let out a nice little chuckle. Now it's as if she was never gone. Weird. Very weird.

In case you're wondering

1. 99 has yet to make her way home. She's either on a Super Secret Mission, found a new home, or gone to kitty heaven. We may never know.

I love Casserole exchange!

Each month I participate in what's called Casserole Exchange. Once a month some of us ladies get together and exchange casseroles. We each make 5, yummy, somewhat gourmet casseroles/frozen meals. We only bring 4 to the exchange, as we keep 1 for ourselves. Each one should serve 6 people. We have started splitting them b/c so many of us are fairly small families, and there ends up being so much wasted food. It's especially nice b/c that means small families actually get 8 to take home! That's enough for nearly 2 per week.
Our January exchange is this Friday, and during naps this afternoon I made mine. This month I made Crafty Crescent Lasagna. It's one of my favorite recipes, and I have yet to make it for the exchange.

Here are all of my ingredients
before I got started.

Finished product.
Here they are wrapped,
labelled and ready for the freezer.

Old?

Dave's birthday is today, and he is the big 3-0! He thinks he's over the hill now, but of course, life is just beginning! Shoot- we only have 2 kids (and very youngs ones, at that)...and possibly 2 more to go (Lord willing). I have to admit though, it does feel weird that MY husband is 30. I always thought of 30 as being old, but of course, I'd never tell him that. Thank goodness he doesn't read my blog!

Missing...

I hesitate to make this post for fear that it is "final." Our cat, 99, has been missing for nearly 72 hours. Our last sighting of her was Thursday evening during the football game. I don't know if she's in mourning/committed suicide because OU lost or what. She's not one to stay "hidden" for this long. Occasionally, she will bolt out the door, but usually only when the door has been open for long periods of time. This has not happened at all since then. And even when she does go outside she lasts all of about 1 minute. We have looked in all her hiding places and in every little nook and cranny of our house. We are mystified and a little sad too.

For those of you who see me regularly, you know that we have been contemplating giving her a new home. I don't know if I would actually ever go through with it though. I've come the decision that I'm not really a pet person, and my lack of attention to her just isn't fair. But the boys just love her, and surprisingly, she seems to love them in return. But, this isn't the way I would want to give her a new home.

I really would like to find her. But as the hours/days go on I'm becoming skeptical that it's going to happen.

My baby is now 1!!!

I have found that Hudson's first year went MUCH faster than William's first year. He is so much fun. We celebrated his birthday/New Years at my parent's house with the Talkingtons, my cousins who were in town from Houston. One nice thing about having a New Years Eve baby is that Dave will always be home for his birthday. We had a nice day together. He loved his cupcake...as you can see.
