Hockey

Dave got some free tickets at work for our local ice hockey team...the Fort Worth Brahmas. We aren't hockey people, but it's fun to go do something a bit different. The kids thought it was fun, but after a little bit Crew just wanted to crawl up and down the bleachers.

BOYS BOYS BOYS

A few weeks ago William and Hudson had a 1/2 day at school, so I told them they could each invite a friend over to play for the afternoon. I decided to pick up a tray of nuggets from Chick Fil A, some drinks/chips, and since it wasn't blazing hot outside, I took them over to my parents backyard for some outdoor recreation.

We picnicked first (which, they ate EVERY.SINGLE.NUGGET-- and there were 60!), and all 4 boys (Crew napped most of the time) played so well together for about 3 hours: rope climbing, zip lining, tree house-ing, swinging, tire-swinging, sand-box-ing.... it was a blast!

End of summer...

You wouldn't know it by the temperature outside, but summer is winding down. Sure, I'm ready for cooler temps, but I am always sad when the pools close. It's one of my favorite things to do with the kids during the summer....and this summer was no different. We had a blast, frequenting the pool almost daily, sometimes twice daily.
Last weekend was it for the pools, and we took full advantage!

Until 2014!

Mother's Day Out

We decided to put Crew into a Mother's Day Out program this year so that I'd have 1 day to run errands, go to dentist/doctor appts, etc, and maybe throw in the occasional pedicure or shopping expedition. Last week was Crew's first day, and he loved it. I was worried because the Friday before when I took him to Meet the Teacher, he cried the whole time until I was sitting on the floor with him. But, when I took him in last Tuesday, he just waltzed in there like he knew exactly what he was doing.

Houston

We took advantage of the long weekend last weekend, and made a trip down to Houston to visit my sister. The kids had been counting the days until they got to visit their cousins!
I picked them up a bit early from school, so we could get a move on and beat the traffic.
We spent the majority of the weekend swimming, but we also played games, ate yummy food, watched a movie, played games and watched YouTube on the iPad, hung out with the Talkington bunch (minus the girls), and just generally enjoyed each others' company!

It was a great weekend, and we can't wait to see them again!
