I know that everyone has their own ideas about potty training. My philosophy is this: as SOON as they show interest/ability jump on that potty training bandwagon. William was 22 months when he showed those signs, and we were able to potty train him in about a week. Now, don't get me wrong, we had LOTS of accidents for a good 6 months. But for me, it was worth it.
Hudson started showing those signs right before Christmas, but with all the hustle and bustle, we decided to wait until things calmed down. Every week was crazy, so we kept putting it off. Well, since he was "quarantined" for a week because of his RSV, I decided to take action. It's been a bit slower than it was with William, but we're definitely getting there. We are pretty much no diapers except at naptime, bedtime, and being out of the house for more than 2 hours (like church, playdates, etc). So, far we've had very few accidents, and most of those have been poopoo.
But this weekend we hit a milestone. He has pooped 3 times in the potty!!! Now, he's not telling us he needs to go (William was the same way for a LONG time). We just take him every hour or so. I'm optimistic that we are making great progress. I bought a huge box of diapers at Costco this weekend, and I'm hoping that it will be my last huge box...............

dinner and a movie
We had a family night tonight...I made this:
And we watched this:
The kids L.O.V.E. this movie. And I love watching them watch it. William has started laughing at things in it, and "getting it".

Soccer Season comes to a close...
Soccer this season was a bit of a bust. For those of you who don't know William IRL, he does not like lots of attention (especially when people are watching). Now, if he knows everyone (i.e. family or his buddies), he's fine. But, in a situation like soccer, where he only knows 1 other player and very few of the spectators, he is completely out of his comfort zone.
The soccer season consisted of 8 games (I think). The first 6 of those he stood like a statue in the middle of the field (he would have preferred to stand at the edge, but he knew that a *punishment* would ensue if he didn't obey his coach and stand in the circle in the middle). Every week we tried bribery-- a new toy, going out to eat at his favorite restaurant, candy, WHATEVER he wanted! And every week I could tell he really did want to play. But as soon as he stepped onto that field, it was as if he physically could not make himself do it. It was sad to watch, really.
At game 7, we were fully prepared for the same thing. We were scheduled to go for a swimming evaluation right afterwards, and I told him that if he played in the game (even kicking the ball ONE time would work) we'd go swimming. At half time, he still hadn't played, so I went over to give him a pep talk. Over my shoulder he could see the concession stand with those disgusting yummy pretzels. Of course, he wanted one. I told him that if he played in the game we'd get him a pretzel AND we'd go swimming. Well, you know what? He was like a new kid. He ran, he kicked, he ran, and he kicked. He must've kicked the ball a dozen times! Now, he wasn't overly aggressive, but wow-- he actually played! After the game, he told us that he really like soccer.
Game 8/9 was a double header-- the last day of games. Whoever thought of having the 3/4yr olds have a double header in soccer has never had a 3/4 yr old. He played pretty well in the first game. He ran, kicked, ran, and kicked. By the 2nd game, he was bored and tired, and kept subbing out. Even the star player was pooped.
I'm just thankful that he ended deciding that he liked it. Although, he obviously didn't like it TOO much because he now wants to do gymnastics...

RSV
About 1 year ago, Hudson got RSV. We had the whole breathing treatment, isolation from other kids, nose suctioning, etc. Well, this past Wednesday (and incidentally, Dave's birthday), Hudson just wasn't acting himself. He was fussy and irritable. Before I put him down for his nap, I checked his temp: 103.7! I called the dr, and they thought it sounded like an ear infection since the fever spiked in such a short amount of time (and at the time, he had no problems breathing or congestion). We decided he'd be fine to wait until Thursday a.m. to go in (I was NOT excited about waking both boys up from their naps!).
We get to the dr on Thursday morning, and his oxygen was at 89%, and it was obvious that he was having a hard time breathing. FYI, they don't like their oxygen to get below 94, so this was SUPER LOW! L.O.N.G. story short-- after 3 breathing treatments in the dr office, a steriod, and some other medicines, his oxgyen got up to 93. We managed to not have to go to the hospital, thankfully! He tested positive for RSV, and we were to give him breathing treatments every 2 hours and once during the middle of the night. Thankfully, we already had the nebulizer from last year. I took him in on Friday morning, and his oxygen was back up to 97%! YEAH. We're still doing breathing treatments several times a day, but he is back to his old self!

Hudson's 2nd Birthday
We celebrated New Years Eve/Hudson's birthday in Houston. Trent and Paige were there, plus we wanted to see our cousins! It was really fun to have such a big crowd for Hudson's big day.
The Plasma Car we got Hudson is a HUGE hit!
He was giving everyone "rides"-- particularly Emery!
Yummy Tres Leches birthday cake!
Doesn't William look super thrilled? He was bummed that he didn't get to blow out the candles!
Checking out the robot/toy thing that Uncle Trent and Aunt Paige got him.
a rug with roads, etc from Uncle Christian and Aunt Tasha. SUPER cool!
What's a New Years Eve without a little Rock Band?
Time with Friends
After Christmas we spent 2 days in Atlanta visiting Dave's best friend, Nick. It was a very eventful time-- shopping, shopping, eating out, playing LOTS of games, etc...
Here is a pick of Dave and Nick playing Blowfish on iPhones while William was being the responsible one: reading. :-)

Christmas in Georgia
We had a wonderful visit with the Dennison side of the family in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. It was particularly fun because all 3 kids (and their families) were together. This was our first holiday all together in 4 years!
The boys had a great time getting spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa!

Hudson was very excited about his shark!
William had been asking for a Woody doll for MONTHS! He hasn't left his side since he opened it.
Uncle Jeremy helping Hudson open "Buzzyear"
We took the kids downtown Chattanooga to check out the Christmas decorations. I just LOVE this picture of them with Grandma and Grandpa!
The WHOLE family!
