Mavs!

Dave and I went to the Mavs game on Friday night. It was a great night out, as always when we go see our Mavs. The unfortunate part of the evening was that we lost....that's probably the 1st game in at least 5 years that we've been to when they lost. I have to say, it's much more fun when we win! But, it was still a good time out together.
Go Dirk!

Mavs Maniacs are right behind us, which provides lots of entertainment throughout the evening!

Ok, now for a little rant. The picture below is one of my biggest pet peeves. WHY do people come to a MAVS game in stilettos? I understand wanting to get dressed up for a fun night out. But, this is a SPORTING EVENT, people. Wear your Mavs jersey, jeans, and tennis shoes. Get into the action. Stop trying to show off your fancy shoes. I will admit that it's pretty funny watching these ladies try to walk up and down the steps to get to/from their seats, all the while carrying their nachos and hotdogs. Come on people, take a night off from the heels!

Zoo

Friday was a BEAUTIFUL day here. It's funny because all of the days surrounding it have been yuck: rainy, cold, sleet. But Friday was the perfect day for a zoo outing after being cooped up in the house all day. This time, I didn't trap Crew in the stroller the whole time, which he thoroughly enjoyed!

Wiped out (pardon the graham crackers stuck to Crew's face):

1/2 a decade

Another birthday down the hatch! We celebrated Hudson's 5th birthday on December 31. I have wondered when it would start being a pain for him to have a New Years Eve birthday. We aren't big-time partiers, so I never thought it would be a HUGE inconvenience. But, I figured it could be a pain at some point. And who knows how it will be when he's older. But, right now, I LOVE that he has a New Years Eve birthday. One of the biggest benefits is that Dave is always off of work, so it's fun that he gets to be around on his birthday. And usually, there's a plethora of family around to help celebrate. (Like, this year, we had 30 go out for dinner!!)
We started the day with a few gifts, and homemade cinnamon rolls!

Then we headed down to the Science Museum with Hudson's buddy Reid. We also went with my brother's friends, the Chances, who were here visiting from Brazil.

Hudson, Reid, and Cormack:

Then we went to the IMAX with all 18 of our family who was in town!

We spent the afternoon at home, playing with new toys etc. Then we headed down to Yucatan Taco Stand for dinner--- our 3rd annual tradition. After that, we headed to my parents house for more partying.

Hudson opened more presents. Aunt Julie gave Hudson an origami star made of $5 bills. He was EXCITED to say the least.

Can you tell he's excited? Aunt Julie got the biggest hug ever!

It was a wonderful birthday, filled with lots of time with family!
