Hawaii Part 1

What a GREAT girls trip!!! This was our 7th annual together, and it was the longest one so far-- a FULL week. To refresh your memory, go here for a recap of last years trip, and go here for trips 1-5! Since we were going to Ashley's house, we had to juggle Keaton around. He was AMAZING when he was with us. Let me just say THANK the Lord we didn't have my kids. There's no way they would have cooperated like Keaton did. Ashley's good friend Karen watched him for 2 of the days, and then Scott had him on the weekend. Scott's new job is pretty flexible, so he was home from work every day by 4:30, which made it easy for us to get out the door for dinner.

We were greeted at Ashley's house with these BEAUTIFUL fresh leis. They smelled SO good. We were exhausted from our 8 hour flight, but it was so fun to finally see Ashley.
On Thursday we went snorkelling first thing at Hanauma Bay (see below pic), and then we went to a different beach in the afternoon at Lanikai Beach (which is pretty near Ashley's house). Not to be a complainer or anything, but I have to say that the snorkelling here isn't NEARLY as amazing as what we've seen in the Bahamas in years past. I know what you're thinking, and we were thinking the same thing: we're SPOILED!

This is at the beach in Kailua
That night we headed to Southshore Grill for some fish tacos. YUMMY!
We had Keaton on Friday, so we headed to the DOLE plantation, which was super cool. I don't about you, but I had no idea how Pineapples grow. Well, they grow in these little plants-- and sit on top of a stalk. You can sort of see one in the pic below. Very fun!
We took a train ride around the plantation, which was fun for us, but especially for little Keaters.

Stay tuned for part 2 (luau, Pearl Harbor, Stairway to Heaven, etc...)
