Just Crew and me

I find myself not taking just Crew to do fun things, like I did with the older boys when they were little.  Perhaps it's because we are just so much busier these days, so I don't slow down enough to think about taking him to do these fun outings.
Last Wednesday was such a beautiful day, so I decided to forget chores and errands, and take Crew to the zoo.  He was EXCITED. The whole way there, he kept saying "oo. oo."
He was most excited about the "efants":

The lion was lazy, and Crew was disappointed that he didn't ROAR like last time:

The Orangutans were particular entertaining- playing catch with the onlookers.  He would throw a small stick up to the people, and then point for them to throw it back.  He did this for awhile- it was hilarious!

The cheetahs were on the prowl!

It was a beautiful day at the zoo with my little guy!

SO excited

Things are about to get really exciting in about a month.  Well, I'M going to be really excited in about a month.  Dave's great Aunt Anne is handing down to me her precious baby grand piano.  I have always wanted one, but I wasn't sure if it would ever happen. Aunt Anne knew I loved her piano (She used to be a piano teacher, and she has 2 baby grand pianos), and I had told her that I would be thrilled to have it one day, if she ever wants to get rid of it. But, honestly, I didn't think it would happen.

A few weeks ago, I got the call from her, saying that she would like to give it to me.  Her house has sold, so it's time to clear out the house. So, we are about to clear some space, and make room for my dream-come-true!!

Dave's cousin, Lisa, sent me a pic today of the piano, since it's been a few years since I've seen it.

Olympics

We hosted an Olympics Watch party this past weekend with friends who are fellow Olympics lovers.  It was so fun planning and finding decor to go with the theme.

We had about 40 people over for the afternoon/evening, and it was a blast.  The weather was beautiful, so the kids mostly played outside while the adults ate, chatted, and watched the Olympics.

Go USA!!!

Growing up (sniff sniff)

Crew is now 2yr4mo old. At this age, William and Hudson were both already in a regular bed (and William at 21mo).  For some reason, I have been extremely resistant to moving him into a bed.  The main reason being that I like having him contained (caged?).  But he has been DYING to 1)share a room with William and Hudson and 2)sleep in a big boy bed.

So today Crew and I moved the twin bed that was in his room up to the "sleeping room".  I told him that if he got out bed during his nap, he'd have to go down into his baby bed.

He was pretending to sleep:

I went in after about 15 minutes to check on him, and he was SOUND asleep.  We'll see how long it lasts..
It's crowded in there, but all 3 boys are so excited to share a room with each other.
