The big TWO

We have hit yet another milestone: Crew turned 2! Each birthday one of the boys' has is always bittersweet. I love each new stage, but it makes me so sad to see how time just scoots on by at breakneck speed.

I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, but we started the day off with Crew's buddies Leif and Naomi for a breakfast playdate, then lunch at CCA with the big brothers, and then a fun dinner at Central Market with Mimi and Papa and great Grandma. Crew's birthday was extra special because we had 2 sets of out-of-towners come to celebrate. First my Grandma came down from Oklahoma with my parents for the weekend. The boys love having her around, and she always enjoys seeing them play and interact. Second, the Tracys came to visit and celebrate with the little guy. We LOVE having family around, and Crew's 2nd birthday was the perfect occasion.

Happy (belated) Birthday, big guy! Now if we can all just make it through the 2's!

Sometimes I get bored with the standard family photos. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE all of our family photos, and I'm a sucker for matching outfits and dragging the kids kicking and screaming to some obscure place to capture a "perfect" family moment. Ha!

Crew will be TWO tomorrow (what?!?), so I wanted to capture the 5 of us to mark the occasion, but I wanted it to be DIFFERENT. I found a great idea on Pinterest, so we executed it last night. While we are eagerly waiting for the end results from the photographer, here is a small snippet:
