Girls' Trip 2010

Every year Ashley, Melissa and I (and Ange when she can get here from Cambodia) go on a trip together. The last several years we've gone to Florida/Bahamas.

Well, Ashley is moving to the island of Oahu, Hawaii tomorrow! So, what better place for our 2010 girls trip than a visit to see her? Melissa and I booked our tickets tonight, and we're headed out there May 12. I can't wait!

Big Boy!

Hudson has been happy to stay in his crib. He has yet to crawl out, or even attempt to crawl out. It's weird because William crawled out for the first time at about 19 months! In some ways, I would be happy to keep him contained in a crib for as long as he'd cooperate. But, I'm also ready to have the crib AWAY. We've been using a crib NONstop for 4 years, and I'd like for it to be out of sight for awhile before another baby comes (no, I'm not pregnant...just thinking for the future).

So, we introduced a big bed to Hudson. I was prepared that it wasn't going to go well. We've tried a bed 1 or 2 other times, and he wouldn't stay there. But, surprisingly, it has been successful. This week has been a big tougher because he's getting up a bit early in the mornings and at naptime. I think the minute his eye cracks open, when he would've gone back to sleep while in a crib, he darts out of bed. I'm hoping once the "new" wears off, he'll go back to being my super-sleeper.

Despite the way this picture looks, he's actually really happy here-- and super pumped about being in a "Bo Bo Bed" (big boy bed).

Quick Trip

Dave was in Canada all week last week, so I decided to take an impromptu trip to Oklahoma. It's always nice for the boys to get some time at the farm running around and driving Papa's trucks. Plus, as a bonus, my best friend Ashley was in town for a visit. So, Hudson got to play with his future college roommate, Keaton.

We were able to go visit my Grandma, and we took her to lunch. She entertained the kids in the car by giving them lots and lots of tickles! They love their great-grandma!

Hudson and Keaton doing some serious damage in the Archambo's toy closet. What you don't see is William-- he's the ring leader of the crew!

Keaton and Hudson pretending to take naps together.

On our drive up to Oklahoma both boys could only talk about 2 things.
1: the playhouse/slide

2: driving Papa's blue truck. He has several trucks (blue, 2 reds, 1 white, and a green tractor). William likes to drive the red truck and ride in the back of the blue truck. Hudson likes to drive the blue truck.

It was SUCH a fun trip, even though it was short...and towards the end of the trip is when Hudson started getting sick. It was especially great to spend some time with Ashley since she's moving to Hawaii soon, and it will be awhile before I see her again. (ok, so I'll be going to visit her in May, but you get the idea.)

I know, it's been awhile...

For awhile I wasn't blogging because, to be honest, there wasn't much to blog about. I wasn't even taking many pics of the kids (I know, terrible). Then, all of a sudden, a TON of stuff has happened and now I don't have time to blog.

For all of you, my faithful readers, I promise a few "catch up" posts in the next few days. Here is a teaser:

- our first Spring trip to the park

- spontaneous trip to my parent's farm up in Oklahoma

- late night trip to the ER because of Hudson's 106.8 fever!

- Hudson's first night in a big boy bed

See what all you have to look forward to?
